This was the big day that brought me to Canada. I’m late posting but I’m back dating the entry so that everything lines up in the Blog. You’ll understand why as you read the next few entries.
I went to Kempenfest with Dana and the kids in Barrie (http://www.kempenfest.com/). I got some pictures of Dana and her kids having an Oreo eating contest…. that was a hoot. I’m not much of an arts and crafts guy but there were a lot of nice and interesting things on display.It was a nice day but we ended up racing back to the car because we got a rainstorm that blew in out of nowhere. It reminded me of Florida because it only lasted a short time but was pretty severe. I had rode the bike so I could continue on to the party that was the

Happy Friday.
Today was a quiet day and didn’t even deliver any good pictures. We just hung out and visited a few stores. I shipped some souvenirs for my two boys back to Florida. Knowing the log ride ahead on Sunday, I will take the downtime.Tomorrow is the party that brought me up here.  Perhaps that will provide some suitable photo taking opportunities.

We went to Toronto today. I have been in Toronto before but never had any opportunity to see the sights. I was always there for business. We drove down to a mall outside the city and took the subway downtown.  We took some pictures while we rode. We walked from the subway station and over to the CN tower. The CN tower is a 1800 ft tower that reminds me of the space needle in Washington. You can spend a small fortune for a ticket and go up to the observation deck. You can spend more and go up to another observation area that is higher up but we didn’t do that one. The main observation deck has a lover level that has a glass floor. You have to go through airport like security before you go up. They do their job because they reminded me

I’m currently sitting in a small diner in Ferndale MI waiting for the bad weather north of me to pass. No need to get wet if if I don’t have to. Yesterday was fairly simple. Simple is relative, I know. If you had asked me a week ago about a 273 mile ride, it would have seemed long. In comparison with the riding I have done so far, it is not bad at all.  By the time I finish this in several weeks, I should be able to

603 Miles today. I also ran the “Tail of the Dragon”. Route 129 in NC. It starts in NC and ends in TN. The route leading up to the section they call The Dragon was almost better than the curvy road. I do have a video of a few miles of The Dragon. I tried taking it with my regular digital camera. I will have to do some conversion before I can post it. I wasn’t able to do the whole 11 miles on video because my memory card filled up too quickly. Even so, it should give you the idea of

Day 2 of riding. Stopping at Best Buy in Monroe, NC. Going to see if I can find a camera mount for my bike to try and record my ride through deals gap later today. Getting a later start than I wanted but I still should be able to stay on schedule.

I learned yesterday that I need to organize things a bit better. After the movie I unpacked the bike and repacked everything. I’m figuring out the most efficient way to have access to the right items as I travel. Some things that I thought I would need, I didn’t and others that I needed I had to dig for in gas station parking lots. Hopefully having a little more refinement in my packing will make that easier as I continue on.
I checked the weather. It sounds like it will be a good day tomorrow for riding. I plan on leaving first thing in the morning and heading to
