Joe’s blogged out for now so I will do this entry
.
Well Monday we awoke and were still alive enough said. We were still worried about what kind of critters (bugs from the room) we may have picked up along the way. So far haven’t seen any. We had a plan for the day. Go to the Kawasaki dealer and get them working on the bike while we went for breakfast. Easy enough. So we got to the dealership and found that he fired his one and only mechanic the day before and might be able to get to Joes bike later in the day. MAYBE was used a lot. So we had him check to make sure he had the tire and tube needed. Had the tube but not the tire. He could order it and have it sometime Tuesday. We walked to the Harley dealership down the block and found the tire we needed and plenty of mechanics. They cannot work on bikes other than Harleys. Tried to bribe them by offering to buy a Harley sticker and putting it on the tank but they still wouldn’t go for it. Harleys use standard wrenches
and other bikes metric. Bought the tire and returned to the Kawasaki dealership with a phone number to the Honda Dealer. Called them and they were more than accommodating. They sent a truck and trailer to pick up the bike and a short trip to the motel from hell to pickup our gear and off to the Honda dealership. All went well. We went to LUNCH. By the time we returned the repairs were made and we packed up our bikes and were back on the road within a few hours. Lost most of the day and only put on about 250 miles. Stopped at a Motel 6 for the night. This low end motel seemed like a 5 or 6 star hotel compared to last night. No blood on the floor and clean nonbullet ridden sheets. Hot shower and slept like a rock. Tomorrow should be a good day as the rain will seem to pass us by.
